Trooper Potts VC – The Unveiling VIDEO

The film shows extracts of a service held on 4 October just outside Forbury Gardens, Reading, during which Reading's new war memorials were unveiled and dedicated before a congregation of some 700 people. A formal Parade and General Salute by 94(Berkshire Yeomanry) Signal Squadron was taken by The Lord-Lieutenant of Berkshire, Mr J Puxley. Music is by the Band and Bugles of The Rifles. We thank our Patrons; The Hon Mrs Bayliss CVO JP, Mr Christopher Tarrant OBE and Mr Michael Naxton, Curator of Lord Ashcroft's VC Collection for their tremendous support throughout. We also thank our Major Patrons, Haslams Estate Agents, and Sue Roberts Associates for their help in raising the major portion of the funds required. Reading Borough Council (RBC), Councllors and Officers, across some 7 departments, have supported the project since it started in 2010. RBC have provided the site and will "adopt" the memorial.
